2011

This collection of photos is come from the track in 2011 with maximum altitude of 2080m. This entire track (up to 140 km. long) could be divided into two main sections: mountain and coastal ones. The track started in the vilage of Kambi (about 30km. SE from Chania, alt. about 500m).The first part of the mountains section was the ascent upwards to the Volika Refuge (1300m) and farther to the summit of Spathi (2042m), followed by the descent on the Lívada Plateau (about 1800m). The second part of the mountain section was from Lívada along the E4 route over the sadle between Mt. Agio Pneuma and Mt. Grias Soros (the maximum altitude of 2080m) and farther as far as the Niatos plateau (1230m) to continue along the old mule track (the same way like in 2008) across the Trikoukia plateau as far as to the place called Fee kai Yannis not so far from the former village of Mouri (about 1000m). The final part of the mountain section (nevertheless, it could be considered to be the first one of the coastal track due to the lower altitude) was descent from the village of Mouri down to the town of Chóra Sfakia on the coast. The second main section of the entire track was hiking along the coastal E4 route from Chóra Sfakia first over the Anopolis plateau down on he coast at the Agios Pavlos beach and the along the route and through Sougia as far as to the town of Paleohora.
